Carol A. Kartagener

Carol A. Kartagener is Board Certified in Marital and Family Law. In addition, Carol is also a skilled litigator and engages in the practice of commercial and general civil litigation. Affiliated with Weiss, Handler & Cornwell, P.A. for over 26 years, Carol has numerous reported opinions to her credit. A tireless worker, Carol is a caring, effective advocate for her clients. She has been selected for inclusion by Who’s Who in Executives and Professionals. Carol commenced her legal career with a prestigious judicial clerkship with The Honorable Norman C. Roettger, Jr. of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. She was also appointed and served as a Special Master and a Guardian in Broward County, Florida. In 1993, Carol reportedly had the largest verdict of any commercial case in Broward County, in an amount in excess of $11 million dollars, which included a $7 million punitive damage award.

Carol is admitted to the Florida Bar as well as the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Carol is a member of: the Florida Bar Family Law Section; the South Palm Beach County Bar Association, and its Family Law Committee; the Palm Beach County Bar Association; and the Florida Association of Women Lawyers South Palm Beach County Chapter. Carol completed Interdisciplinary Family Collaborative Practice Training and is a member of the South Palm Beach County Collaborative Law Group. Carol received her Bachelor of Arts, awarded magna cum laude, from the State University of New York at Binghamton in 1976 and a Juris Doctor from the University of Miami in 1984.
